Young Indian student, Barjarsar school, Rajasthan, India.
Bishnoi and Bhil school children receive a daily serving of corn
mixed with raw sugar, donated by a local NGO.
The Nitigat Vikas Sansthan NGO has established two schools in Barjarsar.
One is staffed with an official teacher paid by the Indian Government
and the other is solely operated by a team of dedicated volunteers.
As an incentive to get students to attend school, they offer them a
daily lunch of cooked corn mixed with raw sugar. This food is an
important supplement to the malnourished population.
